About Little Ark Daycare

Little Ark Daycare is a non profit Day Care Centre located in Faith Place. Little Ark is a non-denominational centre established by Faith Lutheran Ministries in 1981.

Little Ark strives to implement a variety of well-planned programs designed to meet your child's physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Little Ark Daycare operates under license approved by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. It is inspected on a regular basis by the Social Services, Public Health, and Fire Departments.

Many of the Little Ark Daycare staff are Early Childhood Education graduates. The teachers' assistants hold several years experience at their work. All staff attend a minimun of two daycare oriented workshops each year. Staff hold CPR and First Aid certificates. Little Ark is especially proud of its low staff turnover.

Little Ark Daycare providess the children with a wide range of creative/craft opportunities. Gross motor "fun" is encouraged both indoors and out. Musical expression and dramatic play are promoted at various centres. Sensory stimulation is achieved through such media as water, rice, cereal, and others. Circle time is enjoyed by the children when they share their thoughts with each other based on the week's theme. Scheduled sleep/rest times are part of the schedule. Little Ark provides nutritious meals and snacks. The week's menu is posted on the kitchen bulletin board, and the cook welcomes suggestions for new dishes.
